Exercises you can do at your desk

Lower back stretch with shoulders

The muscles in my back are on fire today! I did a new workout that involves lots of challenging wrestling moves and it has worked muscles that I haven’t worked in a long time. So now I’m in need of a good strech. I stumbled across these exercises, which I have just completed, and I must say, they’ve taken the edge off my aches!

  • Do the lower back stretch, remembering to breathe long and deeply.
  • Rest your hands behind your lower back and interlace your fingers.
  • Squeeze the heels of your hands and shoulder blades together. Relax your neck.
  • Slowly raise your interlaced hands behind you, up towards the sky. Breathe deeply into your chest.
  • Take five to ten deep breaths.

These exercises come from a series of streches called “Keyboard Yoga”. Aren’t they great? You can do these at work, in front of the TV, on a park bench…… Although I wouldn’t recommend you do them while driving!!
